How to use these pages
Axolotls, capybaras and narwhals are the animals children ask for now, and most coloring pages of them are drawn for adults. This set draws each one as a single big friendly shape with a 7pt outline: the axolotl's gills as three simple branches on each side, the narwhal with exactly one tusk, the llama's wool as a few soft bumps.

What to expect at ages 3 to 5
Three-year-olds enjoy the names as much as the coloring. Four- and five-year-olds start asking where the animals live and what they eat, so the pages work well next to a picture book. The otter and quokka are the simplest shapes; the axolotl and llama have the most parts.
